As a 70-year-old Medicare Agent, I have seen where people wind up when they say, “If I had known I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself.” If you see yourself heading in that direction, then try this path to prevention. After COVID many doctors went to TeleHealth companies. With our current technologies, i.e. Computers and Cell Phones with Zoom (and other platforms) telehealth solved many of their concerns. They aren’t face to face with sick people all day long. I talked to my Recuro Doctor, and he said he has been with them for seven years and will never go back. It is a service and not insurance, so any family can join. Recuro is the Telemedicine service for Colonial Life customers. Colonial Life was the first Employee Benefits company in the U.S. and they have been around for more than 87 years. Usually you would sign up under your company’s HR. I can set that up with your company if they would permit me to. I was thinking about all the independent individuals out there who started their own company, and they are only one or two deep, and can’t take advantage of a large company program like Colonial Life. I asked if I could set people up under EmbodyPeace LLC, and they said sure. They just want one point of contact for a membership group. Here it is. Or you can wait for four years to see if Oregon passes the single payer plan for Health Care for All Oregon.
